Mentoring Workshop - Constitution, Methods and Training

16 to 17 April 2018, 9am – 6pm

UPSTREAM, the Network for Women in Maths, Heidelberg, and the Research Training Group 2229, Heidelberg/Karlsruhe, host the constitutive mentoring workshop for postdocs and young professors in mathematics. Together with our trainer Dr. Edelkraut, we will elaborate a suitable mentoring programme for Heidelberg and Karlsruhe, introduce and practice management tools, as well as operation and evaluation methods. These methods can be transferred to various situations of mentoring or academic supervision in general.
We invite you to meet postdocs and professors from other groups, exchange ideas and experiences in a relaxed, inspiring and productive atmosphere and learn from our mentoring expert Dr. Edelkraut.

Dr. Edelkraut published his monography “Mentoring” at the renowned Springer publishing company and has supported companies like Bosch and Siemens but also LMU in establishing a well-functioning mentoring programme.
